“Innovation” has seemingly become the corporate buzzword of choice in recent years, especially within the sports industry. Sports business publications and bloggers are consistently touting the latest and greatest advancements in arena/stadium technologies, hyping the most innovative teams, or showcasing the onslaught of new digital widgets, social media platforms, mobile apps, VR, AI, machine learning, real-time analytics, wearables, crypto, NFTs, and more.
We’d like to expand the conversation and coverage to include a wider perspective of the live events industry. Most arenas and stadiums host more concerts, family shows, and special events than they do sporting games with their primary team tenant(s). Theaters, convention centers, and other unique event venues are also challenging the status quo in delivering innovative new guest experiences that deserve to be more widely celebrated and shared.
That’s the impetus behind the Venue Innovation Lab, launched as a collaborative resource to serve those involved in designing, operating, marketing, and selling live event experiences at sports and entertainment venues worldwide. Our mission is to foster and fuel innovative advancements, including the sharing of inspiring ideas, the latest trends, new technologies, best practices, development spotlights, behind-the-scenes access, and dynamic interviews with industry leaders.
