They are equipped with sensors, cameras, and software that enable them to navigate their environment, avoid obstacles, and interact with humans.

“Delivery robots are expected to be used in a variety of industries, such as food delivery, grocery delivery, and package delivery. They are seen as a way to improve efficiency, reduce delivery times, and save costs. They can also help reduce the carbon footprint of delivery services, as they are often electric and emit no harmful emissions.

“In the future, delivery robots are likely to become more advanced and capable. They may be able to deliver larger items, navigate more complex environments, and interact more seamlessly with humans. They may also become more common in urban environments, where congestion and limited parking can make traditional delivery methods difficult. Overall, delivery robots have the potential to revolutionize the way we receive goods and services, making delivery faster, more convenient, and more sustainable.”

This past year, ASM Global and delivery service DoorDash inked a partnership (press release) to provide a more “seamless and convenient service for live-event attendees.” So, what’s the next logical frontier for personalized deliveries?

They’ve already invaded our supermarkets, streets, and convention center floors. Will we soon see delivery robots in other live event venues?

Operating in the ultra-competitive New York market, BSE Global needed a new world-class offering for their high-rollers…. and, in partnership with premium restauranteur Major Food Group and swanky interior designer Ken Fulk, the collective team absolutely over-delivered with the introduction of The Crown Club. It’s a venue space so unique and opulent that it’s almost impossible for guests not to feel transported into an exclusive luxury vibe before and after Nets/Liberty games and concerts.

But it’s not the club itself that delivers the most dynamic impression… instead, it is something completely unexpected — a surprisingly innovative idea that ended up sparking the launch of this platform. On a behind-the-scenes tour of the venue, we uncovered the real gem — a candy room tucked into an unsuspecting corner off of the Crown Club dining area. Through a secret passageway, the luxury experience quickly transformed into a magical experience!

“The Pantry” is stocked with every kind of sugary sweet and candy-coated confections imaginable, all elegantly displayed and available free of charge for guests who have access to the Crown Club.

“Innovation” has seemingly become the corporate buzzword of choice in recent years, especially within the sports industry. Sports business publications and bloggers are consistently touting the latest and greatest advancements in arena/stadium technologies, hyping the most innovative teams, or showcasing the onslaught of new digital widgets, social media platforms, mobile apps, VR, AI, machine learning, real-time analytics, wearables, crypto, NFTs, and more.

We’d like to expand the conversation and coverage to include a wider perspective of the live events industry. Most arenas and stadiums host more concerts, family shows, and special events than they do sporting games with their primary team tenant(s). Theaters, convention centers, and other unique event venues are also challenging the status quo in delivering innovative new guest experiences that deserve to be more widely celebrated and shared.

That’s the impetus behind the Venue Innovation Lab, launched as a collaborative resource to serve those involved in designing, operating, marketing, and selling live event experiences at sports and entertainment venues worldwide.  Our mission is to foster and fuel innovative advancements, including the sharing of inspiring ideas, the latest trends, new technologies, best practices, development spotlights, behind-the-scenes access, and dynamic interviews with industry leaders.
